Desjardins 4 & 5 HP Fact Sheet
Owned by Joe Kelley, Hampden, Maine

These two engines have been in the collection for a number of years. The 5HP engine was the first one acquired and has never had any mechanical work done to it. The only items it was in need of were skids and a replacement gas tank. The engine is complete with a clutch pulley, the original Webster magneto and all the original guards. The original paint and stenciling were in great condition. The bore and stroke are 5 by 9. The 4HP engine is essentially the same as the 5HP engine sharing the same frame, and flywheels. The bore is 4 1/4 x 9. There has never been any mechanical work done to it. The only items it was in need of were replacement skids. The gas tank, clutch pulley, Webster magneto, and all the guards are original to the engine. The original paint and stenciling were in great condition although a slightly lighter shade than the paint on the 5hp engine. Both engines are great runners. The picture of the 4HP engine is directly behind the 5HP engine. Both are running when this picture was taken. These two engines are the reason that I wanted to acquire the other 4 sizes to make a complete set. Thanks for checking out the site! And Thanks to Denis Rouleau for putting all of this together!
